I have tried many different solutions over the past 10 years for printing thermal labels. My pick for the best thermal label printing service for FBA labels is AZlabels.com. Click the link to get printing right away or read on for my full review.

If you are a small to medium sized Amazon seller odds are paying for an expensive software package that includes thermal printing isn’t in the budget. New sellers typically print labels from Seller Central with a common inkjet printer on sheets of Avery labels. These work fine but there ends up being a lot of waste and they technically aren’t FBA approved labels.
History
For the longest time the only label printing service out there was ClickandLabel.com. ClickandLabel is unreliable trash. I used it for a few years as the only option. They have literally no support. In fact, I couldn’t get them to accept payment for six months. I was only able to use the service by signing up for new free trials each month. Once they were finally able to accept my payment (this happened on it’s own, I’m still waiting to hear from customer service hears later!) the service would stop working every few months and it would take hours reinstalling everything to get it working again.
The main reason for these issues is that the Chrome plugin relies on the Dymo print server to run locally on your PC. Any update to the Dymo software, Mac OS, Windows, or the plugin itself can cause it to break.
Fortunately, there is some competition in this area! The best thermal label printing software at this time is AZlabels.com (save 40% by using this affiliate link!). Before I get into more details on how to use the service (which is incredible easy) I’ll give a quick list of what makes this the best option.
- It just works
- Print product and shipping labels
- Print on various sizes of labels
- Use any thermal printer
- Cheap pricing plans
Getting Started
First, choose one of the three packages (see pricing below). Next, the website walks you right though an easy setup process. Finally, you will download the browser extension, set your label sizes for products and shipping, and print some test labels.
Labels can be printed anywhere labels are printed in Seller Central. Simply click the Print Thermal Labels button next to any Amazon print button:
Press the button to generate a PDF of your labels. Then, open the PDF and send to printer.
Dashboard
The dashboard shows the amount of labels printed and your current limit for both product and shipping labels.
Please note: I have been using this software since the very beginning and have been grandfathered into an unlimited plan.
This is also the area to set the size of your thermal labels. I use 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 labels for product labels and a standard 4 x 6 inch shipping label. For product labels I use a Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo for product labels and a Dymo LabelWriter 4XL for shipping labels. However, if either of these were to wear out I would replace either of them with the Rollo High Speed Thermal Label Printer. The Rollo will print any size label up to 4×6 at a much more competitive price.
I currently print about 4500 product labels a month and 120 shipping labels. When I started using AZLabels.com I was printing about 2500 labels a month and 40 shipping labels. At nearly two years using this service I haven’t had a single issue or interruption in service.
Supported Label Sizes
There is a long list of pre programmed label sizes to choose from and the great thing is, if you use a different size just contact them and they will get it added!
Available sizes for product labels:
Available sizes for shipping labels:
Advanced Settings
The advanced settings area allows for some fine tuning of your labels.
Font Size
The font size selection allows you to choose how large the product title will appear. A smaller font will allow for more words of the title to appear.
Disable Big Barcodes
When shipping to an Amazon fulfillment center the FBA label on the outside of the box only takes up about half of a 4×6 label. By default it fills up this area with a large barcode making it easy to scan at the fulfillment center.
Margins
Add white space to the edge of labels by increasing the margin.
Add Merchant Sku
Enable this to print merchant sku on product labels.
Compatible Printers
The software generates a PDF so it’s compatible with literally any printer. The label size set in the dashboard are generate the page size in the printable PDF.
Pricing
Typically, if I read to the bottom of a product post like this there either isn’t any pricing information or it’s so expensive I go running. This is not the case with AZlabels. Additionally, if you use my affiliate link you will get 40% off both monthly and annual plans.
Wrap up
With the initial success of ClickandLabel (by success I mean being the only solution, not being usable) many similar solutions have popped up. Here’s what makes AZLabels the best service:
- 100% reliable
- Excellent support
- Low price and high value
- Constantly making improvements and acting on customer suggestions
