By default the Amazon Seller App is not set to show the FBA fees when scanning items. When looking for profitable items this can be a deal breaker especially when scanning items in the $5-$10 range. Here are the optimal product search settings for the app when doing FBA.
Open the seller app and select the menu (three small lines) in the top left of the app.
Now select the settings gear on the top right.
Next, select “Product Search”.
Select “New” and “Used” conditions. It’s nice to have used if you are scanning opened boxed items or store returns.
Select “Amazon Fulfilled” as the Default Fulfillment Channel.
The Default Low Price selecion is tricky and I find times when both selections seem correct. Using “all offer low” will show the lowest price regardless of FBA offers. So someone might be selling a pen for $1 but charging $6 shipping. It will show the current low price is $1 and you may feel like passing on the item.
Selecting “Use FBA Low Price” will only show the $1 price if there are no FBA offers. If someone with FBA is selling this for $5 it would show that price. The problem with both of these is that there isn’t any indication which has the buy box. We will touch on this later but for now let’s use the “Use FBA Low Price (when available)” selection.
Now the app is all set to start finding profitable items. Start scanning!
